There are a number of ways to improve the design a house without increasing the size and thus the cost. By using logical and multiple use of space techniques, you can increase the usability of a house plan and still keep the construction cost under budget.

Some rooms are volume rooms, like dining rooms while others are linear rooms, like bedrooms. Still others are a combination like great rooms. The definitions are applied to the rooms based on the way the rooms are used.

A dining room is a volume space because the dining room table says so. The table is in the middle of the room with little need for wall space. A bedroom is a linear space since the furniture is placed on the walls. Linear spaces require wall space. A great room is a combination space since there is a little of both in the way of furniture placement.

There are a number of ways you can use the same space for multiple functions. Although this solution may not be applicable to all designs. One of my other favorite examples is found in the master bedroom. I like to use what I refer to as the “master bedroom foyer” to combine traffic patterns for that room at one place.

In the master bedroom, you have 4 traffic patterns. You have the entrance to the suite, the entrance to the room, the entrance to the bathroom and the closet door(s). It many designs, you’ll see the bedroom and suite entry points be the same door, but then the rest are separate. This means that the space to and from these egress points are dysfunctional as far as being efficient in their use.

What I do, is place the door to the suite accessing what I refer to as the master suite foyer. This foyer would have the wic(s) in front, and the bath and bedroom on either side, thus the floor space for all would be the same. This will save a lot in floor space and make the master suite design more efficient. This is a great example of efficient use of space.

Take a typical floorplan with a linear closet about 8 foot in length. This could mean about 6 ft in doors, and unusable floorspace in front of them. The doors take up all the wall space, so you need more wall space to put the furniture on. Now, move the wall with the closet doors on it into the room (making the actual room dimension smaller).

By making the room smaller you are actually making the usable space in the room larger. The room then functions like a larger room.

 Interior design is open to little bit of interpretation and it is an art and what a person thinks as rural or rustic might seem country for the other. But, we do have problems in understanding the current trend interior designs as most of them see this in the similar way.

Clear lines without much messy look are the most accepted interpretations for current day home interior design and often it is seen or termed as contemporary too. The invention of plasma TVs and flat screen LCD have worked wonders with respect to interior design for home theater.

Since the current trend or look is contemporary and sleek with neat lines and no messy details and the perfect ones are the flat screens. To add up to the current look, you need have the Television mounted onto the wall, ensue it is in a wall stud or can even keep it over a anchored pedestal similar to an entertainment center manufactured out of steel, wood or glass. You would not see any comfortable adjustable chair or a lumpy sofa in the interior design home of a living room.

Rather you can find contoured furnishing in various angles, shapes, and materials such as chrome, metal sleek wood or glass. You really have no limits to the various colors you can select when it pertains to interior home design used in your furniture but you might not find any patterns that seem to be fussy or busy or chintz.

Bold and bright colors like lime green, red and orange can see be seen in a home with modern interior home design as similar to the much muted or dark colors like gray, black, purple or even dark brown. Though you have different patterns in the current look, these are neat pinstripes that are typical in nature or something which might not be interpreted as busy.

If you only have one item or if you want to go with something else, definitely.Your living room may be different, but it will comfort you.

Some people really different type of chair or recliner and feel comfortable armchairs with footrests attached. If you just hold a few seats and you will find a selection of them for your living room. Maybe you want to make sure you choose a great.

Some people choose to have furniture for the living room built in his home rather than buying the parts. This is very good and definitely saves time in cleaning. There is one major drawback of this style, and is not easily replace the items. However, the right elements is renewed with a new look with new cushions. It can be a very nice room.

If you are young and just starting, you may have a small bedroom or a house or apartment shared with roommates. Academics are very hard on the furniture for the living room and other rooms. Instead, think of alternatives cheap but fun and color to the ball and large pillows for those who come to visit can be used for watching TV or hanging out with friends. It does not hurt as much as stained or ruined, because they are cheap enough to replace. It’s a great playroom aspect of the boys too.
